Как стало известно РБК daily, в правительстве прорабатывается возможность внедрения криптографически защищенных планшетных компьютеров для организации мобильного рабочего кабинета чиновника. Для этого им придется отказаться от использования популярного во власти, однако незащищенного планшетного компьютера iPad. Внедрение такой системы поможет ускорить документооборот среди ведомств, надеются эксперты.

«Предполагается, что министры, а также их замы получат возможность удаленно с использованием электронной подписи визировать документы, просматривать портфолио подчиненных и в режиме реального времени следить за исполнением собственных поручений», — говорит собеседник РБК daily в правительстве. Сейчас решается вопрос, будут ли это защищенные устройства от BlackBerry, устройства на базе Android или собственная российская разработка с использованием различных систем защиты.

I believe that this inflection point can be described as going from personal computing to personalized computing and will be defined by tablets and smartphones that take all types of shapes, form factors and designs that make the computing experience more personalized and customizable. This inflection point is just as dramatic as when the PC came on the scene and cut the chord between the mainframes and mini’s and brought personal computing local. Another way to think of this is that we are moving into a phase in which people want a PC on their desktop and in their pocket.

It’s the post-pc world.

Я же думаю, это часть, причем часть малая. Если вообще в какой либо особой степени важная (у нас уже были КПК, нетбуки, до-iPhone-смартфоны). На мой взгляд компютер стал PC тогда, когда им смогли пользоваться люди, а не только личности с паяльниками (спасибо Стиву Джобсу).

А Post-PC это когда людям не надо знать о существовании файлов. Post-PC это когда людей перестают обзывать пользователями. Это когда для того, чтобы переслать кому-то фотографию или скан паспорта их не надо вставлять в Word.

Post-PC — это айпад. (Появление айфона четыре года назад — это как производство двигателей внутреннего сгорания — охрененно круто повлияло и на индустрии и на людей, но собственно революцию произвел Ford Model T.)

«Уверенный пользователь айпад». Пиздец диагноз. Такая строчка в резюме будет всеми считаться еще большим идиотизмом, чем «продвинутый интернет-пользователь». Никто не пишет в резюме про умение завязывать шнурки.

Сегодня мой наш общий парикмахер (тот еще чайник самоварник в компах!) попросил меня купить в Бангкоке для его мамы айпад, потому что вообще-то она просит компьютер — «ну, знаешь, интернет там, фотки,…» — но он думает, что «она с ним не справится, а еще вирусы».

Ни ползвука о том, что не настольный или переносной или еще какой. Компьютер — это то, с чем надо управляться.

iPad — … это iPad.(29 миллионов за пять кварталов, между прочим.)

Ecosystem, ecosystem, ecosystem. iOS, iTunes, App Store, Apple Store, iPod, iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, service, support, accessories. It all works better with Apple. It may cost more money, though this is doubtful. Apple marketing may suggest we are all metrosexuals. Steve Jobs very well may be a dick. Apple users may be sheep. But the ecosystem is hands-down a minimum two standard deviations better than anything Google Android can offer. Why wouldn’t you choose that?

Anecdotally, we purchased both an iPad 2 and Xoom recently and spent the last four weeks using the device[s] at home. The iPad has lived up to all the hype with the wife and kids nearly fighting over who gets to play with the device. In this short time, the Xoom acquired the name “Dad’s iPad” and sat mostly idle. Our experience suggests it is mostly clunky software and lack of quality control in applications from the Android app store has turned users in our household off. The Xoom was boxed up and sent back to Amazon earlier this week.

A: The iPad is a collection of components. Some are easy to duplicate or to source. This includes memory, microprocessors, communications components. Other components are harder to find and may be expensive once found. This includes the right kind of batteries and the screen. Yet other components are impossible to find or duplicate. That includes software.

The 9.7-inch, 1024 x 768-pixel touchscreen display in the original iPad delivers the best colour fidelity of any portable computing device we’ve ever tested. Better than the current stable of MacBook Pros, better than the MacBook Air 11 inch (we’ve not tried out the Air 13 inch) and better than several Dell, Lenovo and Toshiba laptops we’ve profiled in the past few months too.

Because the iPad lacks true colour managed viewing, its best colour accuracy comes only when displaying photos in the sRGB colour space. That limitation aside, it really does kick sand in the screen of every laptop we’ve had the opportunity to evaluate. The only way we’ve seen to beat the colour accuracy of last year’s iPad, not to mention its wide usable viewing angle, is to pit it against a decent desktop monitor.

Yes, the original iPad’s display is really that impressive. The good news is the iPad 2′s same-size, same-resolution display, while not the same component as its predecessor, features the same superb colour accuracy for a portable device. That said, its colour temperature, at about 7000K, is higher than the original iPad and makes for whites and grays that are slightly too blue. This, however, is a minor point. The iPad 2 display’s colour accuracy is sweet for a device of this type.

Goldman Sachs (GS), one of the few major U.S. investing firms that wasn’t covering Apple (AAPL), resumed coverage Sunday with a price target of $430.

The stock reacted immediately when trading began Monday, quickly setting an all-time intraday high of $325.06 as 1.4 million shares changed hands at the opening bell.

Бумажные я не читаю (да и не смотрю; и, если приходится чего-то ждать в месте, где для коротания времени стоит журнальный столик со свалкой из убитых деревьев, я лучше возьму айфон — у меня там много чего), и электронные, видимо, не стану.

Apple Reports Fourth Quarter Results Record Mac, iPhone and iPad Sales Highest Revenue and Earnings Ever CUPERTINO, California—October 18, 2010—Apple® today announced financial results for its fiscal 2010 fourth quarter ended September 25, 2010. The Company posted record revenue of $20.34 billion and net quarterly profit of $4.31 billion, or $4.64 per diluted share. These results compare to revenue of $12.21 billion and net quarterly profit of $2.53 billion, or $2.77 per diluted share, in the year-ago quarter. Gross margin was 36.9 percent compared to 41.8 percent in the year-ago quarter. International sales accounted for 57 percent of the quarter’s revenue. Apple sold 3.89 million Macs during the quarter, a 27 percent unit increase over the year-ago quarter. The Company sold 14.1 million iPhones in the quarter, representing 91 percent unit growth over the year-ago quarter. Apple sold 9.05 million iPods during the quarter, representing an 11 percent unit decline from the year-ago quarter. The Company also sold 4.19 million iPads during the quarter. “We are blown away to report over $20 billion in revenue and over $4 billion in after-tax earnings—both all-time records for Apple,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “iPhone sales of 14.1 million were up 91 percent year-over-year, handily beating the 12.1 million phones RIM sold in their most recent quarter. We still have a few surprises left for the remainder of this calendar year.” “We’re thrilled with the performance and strength of our business, generating almost $5.7 billion in cash flow from operations during the quarter,” said Peter Oppenheimer, Apple’s CFO. “Looking ahead to the first fiscal quarter of 2011, we expect revenue of about $23 billion and we expect diluted earnings per share of about $4.80.”

Комиссия по регламенту руководствовалась тем, что благодаря отсутствию клавиатуры и вентилятора iPad не производит шумов, мешающих проведению заседаний. Использование ноутбуков, а также сотовых телефонов, как и раньше остается под запретом.

The addition of multitasking, folders, and big improvements in mail (amongst other things) finally make the device feel more like a computer and less like a gigantic iPhone. Ironic really, since these updates rolled out to the iPhone first. In our brief use of the new and improved iPad (and particularly with multitasking), we’re impressed to see that there doesn’t seem to be any lag or slowdown on the device while swapping between apps (despite the smaller amount of RAM on board here) or throwing together folders. We’re pretty heartened to see performance matching what we’ve come to expect on our iPhone 4 — admittedly we had reservations about what the experience would be like. Folders are an especially notable inclusion here due to the pure silliness of scrolling through multiple iPad pages, and we’re happy to see them intact on the bigger device. This is going to be a huge improvement for general navigation. Otherwise, many of the odds and ends you know from the iPhone / iPod versions are here, though the new AirPrint and AirPlay functions have yet to make their way to any pieces of the OS that we can see.

В MBK (а от него как ни крути, никуда не деться — мы снова живем в Pathumwan Princess, на 22-м этаже, а на уровне второго и граунда они сливаются в экстазе — ворота в мир шоппинга в районе Pathum Wan), четвертый этаж полон новых iPhone 4 — и unlocked (в основном из UK), 32GB от 39,000 (это около 37,500 рэ) до 59,000 бат, и джейлбрейкнутых, на пятерку дешевле. Аксессуары есть все, раза в два с копейками дороже, чем должны быть в американских Apple Store (где их как правило нет — «дефсит!», потому что изрядная их часть здесь, прямо с ценниками «$29.00»).

(Да, проблемы с антенной у iPhone 4 я не заметил. Не увидел. Не разглядел. Как не пытался сжать, обнять, обпальцевать-облапать боковину корпуса, не выходит. Сорри, ребята, раздувавшие Antennagate, не пылите. А какой он клевый рассказывать не буду, чтобы не дразнить.)

Тема этого сезона в чехлах (как в прошлом году Ed Hardy) — эмо-девочки, томные бамбинки. Отличное исполнение и самого чехла (слегка резинового, что ли, очень приятного на ощупь) и рисунка (десятки вариантов), потому при цене около пяти долларов останавливает только размер багажа и количество дней в году.

С айпадами тоже нет проблем — есть любые, как и аксессуары (чехлы, доки, доки с клавиатурами…). 3G + Wi-Fi 64GB стоит от 33,000 до 53,000.

Безлимитный интернет (только GPRS/EDGE, 3G только строится) стоит около $20 в месяц (утритесь, русские опсосы!). Столько же стоит день вай-фая в нашем отеле — безумие (как и цены в in-house Спа).

В августе день рождения королевы, поэтому весь город от трущоб до шоппинг-моллов в ее портретах в окружении цветочных гирлянд всевозможных размеров — от небольшого блокнотика до чего там поместится на небоскребе.

Siam Paragon радует не только фантастическим фудкортом, где нет, пожалуй, только русской кухни, выставкой потрясающих автомобилей прошлого века от трехколёсных BMW (любимой марки шанхайских девушек) до кадилаков-купе длиной с ж/д вагон (с таких пытались срисовать членовозы для супер-членов КПСС), тем что для королевских особ центральную часть на двух этажах перекрывают не за неделю, а всего лишь за 20 минут, но и полным выпадением в детство — в подземных этажах этого самого Парагона расположен Siam Ocean World — самый большой в ЮВА аквариум — каких только рыб там нет!! (Хотя в моем детстве такого и в помине не было, так что за восторги не стыдно.)

Somboon Seafood как год и два назад полон народа, тайцев-китайцев и чуть-чуть иностранцев (в смысле белых), и парочек и компаний на дюжину, невероятно галдежен, а грин карри краб (средний), том ям кунг (малый) и креветки в чесночном соусе (большой) настраивают на мысли о несправедливости месторождения и неправильности современного геополитического устройства. Счет выглядит как смачный одновременный плевок всех пациентов Республики ШКИД в светлый лик московских рестораторов. 

И — мелочь, конечно, но как это приятно — не объедать Путина.

Эта прога едва появилась и уже настолько силен наплыв, что подключить Facebook и Twitter совершенно невозможно!!

It’s fucking amazing!

Два миллиона – меньше, чем за 60.

Три – за 80.

А продажи-то ускоряются. По ходу дела трехнедельной давности прогноз продаж айпадов пора корректировать раза в полтора.

Обожаю этот девайс. Правда после айосинга айфона, мультитаска хочется и на айпаде, но придется потерпеть до осени.

Можно попросить милую остановиться, из лежащего в багаже несессера достать маникюрные ножницы и аккуратно обрезать купленную несколько часов назад сим-карту под размер micro-sim, вставить в iPad, обрадоваться надписи «Mega… 3G», набрать в Simplenote for iPad этот текст и запостить его.
